The trailhead is located at the end of the North Peak parking area, where the journey begins with a steep ascent that tests your stamina and determination. The trail offers breathtaking panoramic views as you gain elevation, with scenic overlooks showcasing the sprawling beauty of Red Rock Canyon and the surrounding Spring Mountains. ⚠️ Summer Hours & Heat Safety: The Scenic Drive is open daily from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM during the summer season (April through September). Timed Entry reservations are not required from June 1 through September 30. Summer temperatures in the Mojave Desert can be extreme. Average daytime highs at Red Rock Canyon reach the mid-90s°F, and temperatures frequently exceed 100°F during heat waves. For your safety, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during periods of extreme heat and when Excessive Heat Warnings, Watches, or Advisories are in effect. Be sure to carry plenty of water, wear sun protection, and plan activities during the cooler morning or evening hours whenever possible.
